Publications

Professional Training and Career

Lambert Schneider studied environmental and chemical engineering at the Technical University of Berlin. From 1999 to 2000 he worked with Berliner Energieagentur as project engineer. From 2000 to 2009 he worked as researcher at Öko-Institut on energy and climate policy. From 2001 to 2008 he was a member of the German delegation in the UN climate negotiations, working mainly on reporting and review of greenhouse gas inventories, accounting, and international carbon market mechanisms. From 2005 to 2010 he was a member of the Methodologies Panel of the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM). In 2010 he joined the secretariat of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) leading a team that worked on developing and improving methodologies for quantifying emission reductions and supporting UNFCCC negotiations. From 2012 to 2019 he was Associate to Stockholm Environment Institute in the area of climate policy, carbon markets and energy policy. Since 2013 he is a member of the CDM Executive Board; in 2014 he served as Vice-Chair and in 2015 as Chair of the Board. In 2019 he joined Öko-Institut as Research Coordinator for International Climate Policy.
