A common task: Getting involved in socio-ecological transformation

Sustainable transformation cannot succeed without them: citizens, business owners, public administrators – and many others. For socio-ecological transformation is a task for society as a whole. The current issue of eco@work therefore deals with the question of how different actors can be enlisted for this task, and how their experiences and insights can be put to the best possible use. We consider various formats for transdisciplinary sustainability research integrating diverse perspectives, and take an in-depth look at one of the best-known formats: living labs. Results from practice are reported by Martin Hahn, head of the municipal building authority in Wittenberge, which has been involving a variety of stakeholder groups in urban development for many years.
