Living without plastics – but how?
Plastics are an efficient, practical and cheap material. But the way in which we use plastics has numerous negative impacts, especially on the environment. For example, 75 percent of the waste found in the oceans and on beaches contains plastics. It is estimated that between 5 and 13 million tonnes of plastics waste get into the oceans each year. How can plastics be managed more sustainably? How can the release of microplastics be reduced? And how could the recycling of plastics be improved? The latest issue of eco@work looks at these issues.
