New Chinese Green Mines Standards – English Translation available
The Ministry of Land and Resources of the People's Republic of China published a draft guidance document on accelerating the construction of green mines in May 2017. The guideline refers to existing and new mines in the domestic mining sector. More specifications are given in nine draft Standards of the Geology and Mineral Industry of the People's Republic of China, addressing different segments of the extractive sector, issued by Ministry of Land and Resources of the People's Republic of China. So far the documents have only been available in Chinese. In hope to strengthen the dialogue on sustainable raw materials the Oeko-Institut decided within the STRADE project to translate the draft guidance document and five selected standards (non-metallic minerals, gold, coal, metals and non-ferrous metals).
