Analysis and elaboration of recommendations to optimize the energy-efficient and climate-friendly operation of heating systems

The project is developing qualified recommendations for legislation on how to tap the energy-saving potential available in the short and medium term through low-threshold optimization measures in existing heating systems. The recommendations are based, among other things, on extensive literature research, an analysis of current regulations, discussions with representatives of involved stakeholder groups, and projections of the costs and benefits of possible measures. They also include conceptual instructions for potentially implementing actors (e.g. chimney sweeps, HVAC craftsmen) on how to carry out the measures recommended by the authors as well as considerations for future anchoring in building energy savings legislation.
