Analysis of the ban of fossil heating technologies on NECPs and national energy dependency

The study addresses the scenarios for each member state if there were to be a ban on fossil heating technologies, particularly: •        Their respective saving in gas consumption, and Russian gas import; •        The respective percentage of greenhouse gas emission target achieved; •        The respective percentage of renewable energy in heating and cooling achieved. The report observes three potential dates for phase-out: 2023, 2025, and 2029. The aggregated result shows significant savings for both gas consumption and achievements for national energy and climate plans if phase-out begins latest 2025, but insignificant impacts if delayed to 2029.
