Analysis of transformation pathways for global sustainable development

The project aims at identifying and analysing transformation pathways for global sustainable development. For this purpose, the project team evaluates sources from science and politics. The pathways relate to SDGs or SDG targets in the following thematic areas:

  • Sustainable food production
  • Sustainable energy supply
  • Sustainable cities
  • Sustainable consumption and production
  • Sustainable soil/land use.

The researchers evaluate t he transformation pathways in terms of their completeness with regard to (intermediate) goals, milestones, transition narratives and measures, and with regard to the contribution that they claim to make to achieving the respective SDGs/ targets. They identify g aps where (sufficiently concrete) proposals for transformation paths do not yet exist but would be useful. Experts from science, politics and administration discuss the project results in a workshop.
