Assistance to the Commission on technological, socio-economic and cost-benefit assessment related to exemptions from the substance restrictions in the End-of-Life of Vehicles (ELV) Directive

In the context of this project, six exemption requests were evaluated according to the ELV criteria for justification of exemptions. After an initial completeness check of requests, available information for each request was subjected to an online stakeholder consultation, to allow further input concerning the request justification. After the stakeholder consultation, contributions were posted on the CIRCA as well as the RoHS evaluation website, followed by the evalua-tion of each area of concern. With the completion of evaluations, a report was prepared presenting the available infor-mation and explaining the rational of the evaluation of each area of concern, as well as providing a recommendation for the EU COM as to what actions should be taken.
