Atlas of social aspects of the energy transition in German buildings

In order to develop approaches and tools for the socially just design of the building energy transition, a fundamental understanding of the status quo and the prevailing contexts is required. The aim of this project is to make the facts clearly understandable and widely accessible and to give this important topic the necessary visibility. It focuses on how households in Germany are currently burdened by housing costs in general and heating costs in particular. The Atlas also shows how climate policy and social issues are intertwined, highlights how socially oriented the design of the transformation process already is today and presents options for action. Central insights from existing scientific publications are bundled and presented together with own analyses.
