Carbon Credit Quality Initiative (CCQI) – Phase I

Founded by Environmental Defense Fund, Oeko-Institut and World Wildlife Fund (WWF-US), the Carbon Credit Quality Initiative (CCQI) provides transparent information on the quality of carbon credits. In this first phase of the project, a methodology for assessing the quality of different types of carbon credits was developed. Towards this end, criteria for what constitutes "high quality" were identified and practical methodological approaches for assessing carbon credits against these criteria were developed.
