Citizens’ participation and social inclusion as a building block for the implementation of the National Programme for Sustainable Consumption

Citizens' participation and social inclusion as a building block for the implementation of the National Programme for Sustainable Consumption The project aims to identify and test new methods with which the social participation and inclusion of all sections of the population in sustainable consumption can be promoted. It also asks which social and political framework conditions need to be created for this purpose. The focus is on young people, low-income households and migrants. Based on a typology of participation, various formats such as short-term experiments, citizens' dialogue, round tables and a future conference are conducted, experimentally varied and evaluated. An accompanying social science research is carried out by means of a "consumer panel". The work will result in political recommendations for the stabilization of participation and participation within the framework of the National Programme for Sustainable Consumption.
