Climate effectiveness of post-2020 CAP based on the example of Germany

The project aims to assess the climate effectiveness of the EU’s Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) 2023-27 on the basis of Germany's national strategic plan and the legal framework. For this purpose, the GHG mitigation impact of the CAP is determined and the provision of financial resources for climate protection purposes is considered.

Based on the methodological preparatory work on the allocation of funds and GHG accounting, proposals are derived for the improvement of existing measures and, if necessary, alternative measures that could be implemented in a climate-effective and cost-effective manner in the new funding period.
