Comparison of the Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) of Egyptian potatoes with the PCF of stored potatoes organically grown in Germany

The project aimed at comparing the Product Carbon Footprint of early potatoes cultivated in Egypt with the PCF of stored potatoes organically grown in Germany. The compilation of each PCF started with primary agricultural production including upstream chains and ended with the retail sector. Use phase and disposal were not taken into account, since - even though different scenarios are conceivable - these are equally applicable to the products to be compared to each other.
