Concept, coordination and implementation: Mediation process for the building project at the Institute for Transuranium Elements

In the course of the plans for an extension of the Institute for Transuranium Elements (ITU), intensive discussions are being held in the region about the research taking place there, its meaning, purpose and necessity. The Ministry for the Environment, Climate and Energy Management of Baden-Württemberg, which is responsible for the nuclear licensing application, is initiating a mediation procedure. The aim of the procedure is to sound out whether there are possible solutions to the existing points of contention through joint discussion with all parties involved. These possible solutions are to be worked out before approval decisions are made in the upcoming procedures.
