Decomposition analysis of energy-related greenhouse gas emissions with a focus on the expansion of renewable energy

In this research project, a detailed analysis is conducted of Germany’s international reporting of renewable energies and greenhouse gas emissions. The key focus of the analysis is on comparability, similarities, overlaps and differences. Following this, a methodology is developed that facilitates an understanding of the development of Germany’s emissions, especially the energy-related emissions, with respect to the significant factors of influence (drivers). These drivers are quantified in terms of their contributions to emission abatement (or increase).
