Demographic change and its effects on waste management – determining the effects of demographic change on waste production, logistics and the treatment and development of resource-conserving courses of action

This project aims to address the impact of demographic change on municipal waste management and disposal, while also reflecting policy objectives in the context of resource efficiency (key words: implementation of the EU waste hierarchy with waste prevention, reuse as priority options) and deriving action recommendations for selecting different model regions. The study should address the shorter term (until 2030) and longer term (until 2050).
