Development of a list of potential POP candidates for the Stockholm Convention and refinement of the POP criteria - Which strategy is to be adopted for a successful identification of new POPs?

This research project aimed at evaluating methods for the identification of new POP candidates and at developing a strategy for identifying new POP candidates. A further objective was to nominate substances or groups of substances which are potentially relevant with regard to POPs. The intention of the project is a contribution to enabling Germany to participate actively in the evaluation process for the nomination of new POPs and to introduce their own POP candidates.
