Ecological implications of thermal waste incineration plants

The Öko-Institut was commissioned by the Environmental Agency of the City of Wiesbaden: - to examine the treatment options for the residual and commercial waste of the city of Wiesbaden, - to examine the thermal treatment of Wiesbaden's waste in available plants in the surrounding area and at the Dyckerhoffbruch site, and to evaluate it ecologically (esp. climate protection and pollution, taking into account energy use and transport) and economically, - to estimate, describe and discuss possible impacts on the planned settlement area Ostfeld/Kalkofen. The aim is to provide facts and assessments that form a factual basis for further action.
