Environmentally sound disposal and recycling of e-waste: Expert pool policy advice

Germany has started a bilateral cooperation with Ghana in 2016 to improve the conditions towards a sustainable e-waste management. The effort involves a technical cooperation project implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ). The technical cooperation project engages in three activity fields related to (1) improving the policy framework, (2) developing economically viable business models, and (3) capacity development in the informal sector. The activities conducted under this assignment are related to improving the policy framework. In specific, they support the project in developing a detailed concept paper for a future hazardous waste storage facility; and the development of a framework concept for improved solid waste management at the Old Fadama scrap market in Accra (also known as Agbogbloshie).
