Establishment, tasks and topics of a competence centre for nature conservation and the energy transition - feasibility study

The establishment of a competence centre to reduce potential conflicts between the energy transition and nature conservation is part of the 2012 coalition agreement between the CDU, CSU and SPD. Based on considerations in the "Key Issues Paper for a Competence Center for Nature Conservation and Energy Transition" of the environmental associations, the project participants conduct a feasibility study. They analyse and assess the relevant fields of conflict between nature conservation and the expansion of renewable energies. From this analysis, they derive priority areas for the future work of the Centre. The team also develops options for the Centre's design center and discusses organizational and legal issues.
