European Topic Centre on Air Pollution and Climate Change Mitigation (2014 – 2018)

Oeko-Institut is a partner in the European Environment Agency's (EEA) European Topic Centre on Air and Climate Mitigation (ETC/ACM). As task managers Oeko-Institut’s experts

• Develop methodologies and compile approximated GHG inventories

• Support WG 1 (inventories) under the Climate Change Committee

• Compile the EEA report on annual GHG emission trends and projections and the report on the assessment of progress towards Kyoto targets

• Compile data for the EU ETS data viewer

• Participate as EU experts in UNFCCC GHG inventory reviews

• Assist EEA and Eurocontrol in the QA/QC of emission data from aviation with a focus on comparison of Eurocontrol data and inventory data

• Provide support to the reporting under the F-gas regulation, including the management of the database of company data, QA/QC and the compilation of related reports;

• Compile and evaluate methodologies to compile city inventories.

• Compile the EU GHG inventory report

• Support the implementation of the EU Effort Sharing Decision

• Support the EEA in the compilation and QA/QC of MS reporting of climate mitigation policies and measures and greenhouse gas emission projections

• Analyse the retrospective quality of GHG emission projections for the first commitment period under the Kyoto Protocol

• Develop an online reporting tool and related data base for the questionnaire under Article 21 of the EU ETS Directive and compile a report based on the information reported by MS in 2014.
