Evaluation of cogeneration - Analyses on the development of combined heat and power in an energy system with a high share of renewable energies

I n this project, support was provided to the German Ministry for Economic Affairs (BMWi) on all questions related to cogeneration . A special focus of Oeko-Institut's work in this project was to investigate the development of combined heat and power in Germany and to assess the associated effects on energy and greenhouse gas savings. The different fields of application and energy sources were taken into account and the effects of the German Cogeneration Act’s (KWKG) subsidies were analysed.
