Expert support for the implementation of Hesse’s Climate Protection Plan

To support the implementation of the Hessian Climate Plan, the Öko-Institut is involved in the following three tasks

The 'Climate Check' action guideline, which has already been started, is being finalised. The Climate Check is part of the climate law in Hesse and means that all decisions of the state government, including draft laws and regulations, have to be checked for their impact on climate protection targets. This ensures that all political decisions are in line with the climate target of climate neutrality by 2045.

Gaps in the climate plan will be identified and proposals developed to fill them. To this end, key measures and ideas will be collected that are not (yet) or not sufficiently included in the Hessian Climate Plan or the Climate Action Act, but which make a relevant contribution to achieving the Hessian climate target by 2030.

The tasks of the project team also include ad hoc assessments and short studies for the Scientific Council on Climate Change.
