General preliminary testing of the environmental compatibility of the project "10th decommissioning permit for decommissioning KNK" of KTE (Kerntechnische Entsorgung Karlsruhe)

Kerntechnische Entsorgung Karlsruhe GmbH (KTE) has applied for the 10th decommissioning licence for the Compact Sodium-cooled Nuclear Reactor Facility Karlsruhe (KNK). In the licensing procedure, the possible environmental effects must be examined within the framework of a preliminary EIA. Öko-Institut was commissioned by the licensing authority, the Ministry of the Environment in Stuttgart, to carry out a general preliminary assessment of possible environmental impacts.
