Greening Cloud Computing and Electronic Communications Services and Networks: Towards Climate Neutrality by 2050

The aim of the research project is to investigate measures to increase energy efficiency and improve circularity for data centres and electronic communication networks. For data centres, the aim is to establish definitions for data centres, identify measurement methods and develop policy options suitable to support the European Green Deal and the Circular Economy Action Plan. For electronic communications services and networks, the objective is to identify indicators of energy consumption and resulting greenhouse gas emissions from telecommunications services to enable end-users to choose environmentally friendly options.
