Implementation of the EU procurement directives into German law

The content of the research project was the presentation of the legal framework for green public procurement, the development of model tenders for selected products and services (workplace computers, multifunctional devices, irrigation systems in landscaping, building and glass cleaning), a profitability analysis and the determination of the environmental impact of the selected products and services as well as an estimate of the volume of public procurement in Germany.

As part of the project, the Federal Environment Agency's first legal opinion on green public procurement was published: "National implementation of the new EU procurement directives", www.umweltdaten.de/publikationen/fpdf-l/3329.pdf . The main results of the project are also summarised in a brochure. An Excel tool was created to calculate the life cycle costs (LCC). Both can be downloaded from www.umweltbundesamt.de and www.beschaffunginfo.de .
