Implementing the Nagoya Protocol. Module of the Project 'Preparation of and follow-up to the COP-10 and preparation of the COP-11 of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD)'

The project develops a proposal for implementing the Nagoya Protocol to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), which is intended to ensure "fair benefit sharing in the use of genetic resources". Taking into account the state of international discussion on user country measures, formal-technical and legal options for implementing Articles 15, 17 and 18 of the Nagoya Protocol in Germany are developed and evaluated. On this basis, the results of a study commissioned by the EU Commission on the type and scope of necessary EU measures and laws for implementing the Nagoya Protocol are assessed with regard to consequences for Germany.
