The expert opinion on "Indicators and Criteria of a general sustainability label" investigates - challenges in terms of content and methodology arising from the development of criteria and indicators for a general sustainability label, taking special account of the question whether it will be possible to develop product-independent criteria and indicators, - procedural requirements connected with a general sustainability label, - relevant stakeholders and institutions that should be qualified to carry out implementation; including an assessment of their capacities and potential additional costs. Furthermore, the current national status of research will be summarized and the need for further research will be specified.
