Innovative energy storage solutions for the future: Recycling and environmental requirements and strategies for avoiding supply risks of their production

The project team assesses the need for action in the fields of environment and resources resulting from the rising energy storages capacities due to the German energy turnaround. The study focuses on high-performance batteries and production, storage and consumption of hydrogen. Prospective raw material needs will be evaluated, and recommendations regarding resource conservation, recycling and environmental performance will be derived. The need for adaptation of legislation will be analyzed.
