Integrating a carbon floor price in the policy mix for Germany’s coal phase-out

The aim of the study is the quantitative assessment of the emission reduction that can be reached by implementing a carbon price floor either by Germany unilaterally or jointly by countries in the Central Western European region (CWE region). The effects of a carbon price floor were compared to scenarios assuming that the closure of coal fired power plants is driven by other political measures.
