Integration/implementation of climate and energy-related strategies in the context of the Lisbon Agenda of the EU

The purpose of the project was to support the BMU in asserting its positions in departmental consultations and at EU level. The project essentially focussed on two aspects. Firstly, the client was to be supported in the consultations on the climate and energy legislative package, which was adopted by the European Council in December 2008. Secondly, preparatory work was to be carried out with a view to the evaluation of the Lisbon Strategy by the European Council in March 2009. In particular, the aim was to strengthen the environmental dimension of the Lisbon Strategy for Growth and Jobs in terms of ambitious, consistent and sustainable development and to help clarify the relationship with the EU sustainability strategy. The project comprised consultation on the occasion of consultations within the Federal Government and the preparation of negotiations at European level.
