Global Stakeholder Platform for Responsible Sourcing (RE-SOURCING)

The project establishes an international Responsible Sourcing (RS) Platform that

1. facilitates the development of a globally accepted definition of RS,

2. develops ideas for incentives to facilitate responsible business practices in the EU and supports RS initiatives,

3. facilitates stakeholder exchanges to share information and promote RS,

4. promotes the emergence of RS in international policy fora, and

5. supports the European Innovation Partnership for Raw Materials.

Three relevant sectors are examined in greater depth and a roadmap to 2050 is drawn up: Renewable Energies, Mobility and the Electronics Sector. To achieve the above-mentioned objectives, the Platform connects practitioners, experts and stakeholders to

(i) engage in workshops and peer-to-peer learning events to share and learn from each other, and

(ii) collaborate with stakeholders at international conferences to advance the concept of RS on the global policy agenda.

The project identifies showcases of mature and well-established RS initiatives for raw materials that are of great importance for Europe's future energy, mobility and infrastructure development. By engaging international experts and stakeholders through the digital and physical platform element, the project team is able to engage these initiatives in mutual learning processes about elements of success and challenges, and to identify the factors that contribute to newly established and upcoming RS initiatives becoming success stories.
