Making energy system transformation possible - implementing infrastructures quickly and sustainably

The duration of the procedure in Germany for permits and planning approvals is often perceived as too long. With regard to the energy system transformation projects still to be realized, the dilemma is evident here: hesitant expansion of the urgently needed infrastructure and at the same time lengthy planning procedures, in which judicial review is increasingly taking place - often with an uncertain outcome. In principle, but especially with regard to energy system transformation projects (wind and power lines), the rights of environmental associations and affected parties to participate and to file suit are often identified as the main causes of lengthy proceedings. The conflicts escalate on site, the opponents of wind power/the power lines take over the information evenings or the discussion meetings, so the tenor. A constructive exchange of arguments is not to be thought of. But can the delayed expansion of the energy system transformation infrastructure really be explained by the supposedly "escalating" opportunities for participation and legal action? In answering these questions, the project concentrates on wind turbines (WTG) and extra-high voltage lines (380 kv and more, lines).
