Material efficient recycling for the circular economy of automotive storage systems through technology without residual materials (MERCATOR)

The sub-project focuses on the ecological evaluation of the MERCATOR recycling process for lithium-ion batteries. As a first step towards an ecological assessment, an energy balance is calculated that shows energy flows and optimization potentials. For a comprehensive environmental assessment, a life-cycle assessment (LCA) according to ISO 14040/14044 is prepared for the entire recycling chain.
