Nanomaterials: Impacts on environment and health

The aim of the study was to estimate the potential impact of relevant nanomaterials on environment and health, thereby adopting an interdisciplinary approach, and pointing out opportunities and risks which arise from these nanomaterials. Based on the improved knowledge base, concrete recommendations were derived as well, notably relating to further regulatory developments, which, however, had to be weighed with regard to the economic, environmental and social potential of nanotechnology.
