P2X - Exploration, validation and implementation of "Power-to-X" concepts

The project Power2X addresses the main objectives of the announcement "Kopernikus-Projekte für die Energiewende" of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. Due to the increased environmental and climate protection requirements, a long-term decarbonisation of the energy systems and a storage and use of the surplus electricity from renewable sources should take place. The aim of the Kopernikus project "P2X" is to develop, demonstrate and implement solutions with which material energy sources and chemical products for applications in the industrial lead markets of energy, transport/transport and chemicals can be produced economically, flexibly in terms of time and adapted to the needs of society using renewable electrical energy. The Oeko-Institute made a life cycle assessment on production and usage of oxylene methylene ether (OME) as diesel substitute.
