Reducing microcontaminants in the water cycle through targeted chemical design, a contribution of sustainable chemicals management to sustainable water resources management: The example of textile finishing, Sub-project 3

The aim of the project was the development of well-degradable textile auxiliaries that will not lead to a contamination of drinking water and groundwater. One of the innovative elements of the project is that different potential chemical structures before the synthesis, in a computer-assisted comparison with known structures, were checked as to whether a good biodegradability can be expected. In the context of the project, substances were furthermore synthesized and investigated in biodegradability tests.
