Revision of the EU Green Public Procurement (GPP) Criteria for Computers and Monitors (and extension to Smartphones)

The project's objective was to support JRC Seville in revising the existing EU GPP criteria, as established in the relevant Commission Decision and in the respective GPP document. The priority in this revision process was to first analyse which of the existing criteria and the supporting technical evidence were still valid, and to identify the additional research that should be afterwards carried out. Potential additional criteria were to be proposed and developed, if identified as necessary in the course of the contract. The revision will as much as possible harmonise the criteria for the product group "Personal Computers & Notebook Computers with the other environmental tools being currently revised, i.e. ecodesign. The scope of work was spread across five main tasks: 1. Labels, standards and schemes criteria assessment report. 2. Market analysis. 3. Technical analysis. 4. Analysis of the application of GPP Criteria for Computers in Europe. 5. Ad-hoc support with responding to selected stakeholder comments.
