Scientific studies on increasing energy and resource efficiency of products

The project commissioned by the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM) aims to increase energy and resource efficiency in products. It explore the scientific and technical background to support the ambitious standards of the EU energy label and the EU ecodesign regulation. The focus of the project is the product groups that will undergo revision over the short and medium term due to the label or ecodesign. The priority here: to show BAM and the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) additional energy-saving potential in certain product groups and develop proposals for national action. The Öko-Institut is providing legal support for the project.
