Scientific support for the Competence Centre for Sustainable Consumption and the National Network for Sustainable Consumption

The National Competence Centre for Sustainable Consumption (KNK) was founded to support and implement the Federal Government's National Programme for Sustainable Consumption. The KNK's office is located at the Federal Environment Agency.

The KNK pursues three overarching guiding goals:

- Key objective 1: The KNK promotes the understanding of sustainable consumption in Germany and informs about the goals, activities and results of the Federal Government on sustainable consumption.

- Key Objective 2: The KNK promotes a positive social climate for priority areas of action for sustainable consumption and effective measures to promote sustainable consumption through cooperation with relevant stakeholders and multipliers.

- Key Objective 3: The KNK promotes the implementation and further development of the NPNK

The project serves to support the NPNK. In doing so, tasks in all three key objectives are taken on and the office is supported in its work. Existing KNK services and the National Network for Sustainable Consumption are strategically developed and supported within the project. If necessary, own short studies are also prepared.
