Short expert opinion in connection with the revision of Directives (EU) 2018/2002 on energy efficiency and (EU) 2018/2001 on renewable energies in the heat and buildings sector

This study evaluates the results of projections in relation to the targets of the EU Energy Efficiency Directive, the EU Renewable Energy Directive and the EU Energy Performance of Buildings Directive and conducts a comparison of them. The latter allows a first assessment of possible German targets to achieve the European target, which the German government could report to the EU in the draft of the next National Energy and Climate Plan in 2023.
