Social compatibility of climate protection measures in the building sector for different target groups

The national implementation of the European Buildings Directive (EPBD) requires a comprehensive concept. To this end, scientific foundations, legal aspects, proposals and decision-making options for the implementation of the EPBD are being developed in three batches. Lot 2 focuses in particular on the socially responsible organisation of the transformation in the building sector. The aim of Lot 2 is to analyse the social compatibility of climate protection measures in the building sector for different target groups. On the one hand, proposals for socially acceptable measures for the transformation in the building sector will be (further) developed. On the other hand, measures developed as part of Lot 1 will be assessed in terms of their social compatibility and impact on vulnerable households, households affected by energy poverty and people living in social housing. The design of instruments and measures and a suitable combination of instruments and measures play an important role in the fair distribution of the costs and benefits of climate protection.
