Socio-ecological transformation of residential heating in Berlin Wissen.Wandel.Berlin. Transdisciplinary Research for a Social and Ecological Metropolis Research Network Ecornet Berlin - Subproject

The project “Socio-ecological transformation of residential heating in Berlin” aims to enhance the existing debates in Berlin with scientific analyses. The project looks at the social aspects of climate change mitigation and addresses the fields of action of housing, buildings and energy. The aim of this project is to identify strategies for the energy and heat transition in Berlin in parallel to the climate action measures already defined in the Berlin Energy and Climate Action Plan 2030, which enable social participation for all citizens of Berlin - regardless of their income or social position in society - and aim to create an ecologically and socially sustainable, but also crisis-proof infrastructure.
