Statistical services in the field of environmental statistics: Assistance in the operation of Eurostat’s environmental data centre on waste (dated 25.08.2016; Lot 1)

Support to Eurostat for data collection, validation and publication of data for the Environmental Data Center Waste.

The objective of this project is to assist Eurostat in the operation of the Environmental Data Centre on Waste. This includes:

• Management of waste statistics from various reporting obligations from the collection to publication: ‒ Directive 2008/98/EC on waste (Waste Framework Directive), ‒ Directive 94/62/EC on packaging waste, as amended by Directive 2004/12/EC, ‒ Directive 2000/53/EC on end-of-life vehicles (ELV), ‒ Directive 2012/19/EU repealing Directive 2002/96/EC on electronic and electrical waste (WEEE) on 15 February 2014, ‒ Directive 2006/66/EC on batteries and accumulators, ‒ Municipal waste statistics, ‒ Regulation 1013/2006/EC on waste shipments.
• Maintaining and updating the information provided through the dedicated website section of the Environmental data centre on waste; maintenance and further development of indicators.
• Providing support on preparation of replies to user requests related to technical subject matter.
• In the first year of the contract: ‒ reviewing methodological approaches to produce statistical data, update of information and guidance, review of presentation of results. The aim of this task is to became as ef-ficient as possible. ‒ Providing training to Eurostat’s waste statistics team.
