Status Report: Substitution of PFOS in the metal-plating sector with fluorine-free alternatives

The German Federal Environment Agency (UBA) has commissioned Oeko-Institut to survey the implementation of PFOS-free processes in the electroplating sector, and to document and prepare a report with a view of supporting the international activities towards the phasing-out of PFOS applications. This evidence should advance the current dawdling debate on the replacement of PFOS, providing a wider range of scientific evidence in favour of PFOS-free electroplating.
