Strengthening the international use of the ecolabel, the Blue Angel

The project aims at significantly enhancing the market penetration of climate-friendly and ecological products. By a cross-border marketing of products with the Blue Angel focussing on climate protection, the demand for sustainable products and at the same time the attractiveness of the eco-label for the holder is to be increased. To this purpose, marketing strategies for exemplary product categories and markets are being planned and implemented in cooperation with selected manufacturers and commercial enterprises. Work steps are (1) the development of an international positioning of the Blue Angel relating to climate protection, (2) selection of products and leading companies, (3) finding partners from governmental authorities and civil society, (4) drawing up and (5) implementing marketing strategies. Key performance indicators are the number of activities carried out in the target countries, the media coverage in the target countries, the number of products sold bearing the Blue Angel and the CO 2 savings achieved.
