Study for the review of the list of restricted substances under RoHS 2 - Analysis of impacts from a possible restriction of several new substances under RoHS 2

In the context of this project, the list of substances restricted for use in electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) under the RoHS Directive was reviewed. A substance assessment was prepared for Diisobutylphthalate (DIBP), and a short list of hazardous substances, the result of an earlier study of the Austrian Umweltbundesamt, was prioritised to determine in what order substance assessments should be performed. A draft assessment was prepared for DIBP, along with quantity usage information for the various substances on the short list. This information was subjected to an online stakeholder consultation, to allow further input on the various issues. Following the stakeholder consultation, contributions were posted on the CIRCA as well as the RoHS evaluation website, followed by the evaluation of each area of concern. With the completion of evaluations, a report was prepared presenting the available information and explaining the rational of the evaluation of each area of concern, as well as providing a recommendation for the EU COM as to what actions should be taken.
