Study of the scoping of a Belgian national register for nanomaterials and products containing nanomaterials

The project analyses the scope, costs, risks and benefits for a Belgian National Register on Nanoproducts (BNR). To describe the Belgium market for nanomaterials and nanoproducts data was collected from individual companies through surveys and interviews, experts, industry federations and additional own market research. Six options were considered and compared with one another with respect to the BNR objectives (e.g. traceability, confidence and transparency, data necessary for exposure scenarios) and with the direct costs for industry.
