Support for GIZ’s climate policy support project on the topic of carbon markets

As part of this project, Oeko-Institut supports and advises GIZ's climate policy support project on issues relating to carbon pricing instruments, with a focus on carbon markets. These include the negotiations under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, questions of ODA eligibility of Article 6 projects in the context of development cooperation and the OECD, the further development of the voluntary carbon market and integrity initiatives on the supply and demand side, forest carbon markets such as REDD activities, alternatives to offsetting such as contribution claims and beyond value chain mitigation, as well as discussions on other carbon pricing instruments at regional and international level, especially those relating to aviation and maritime transport.
