Support in developing a climate neutrality strategy for buildings

The project provides scientific support to the German Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) in the development of a climate neutrality strategy for the building sector. This climate neutrality strategy is aimed at further developing the "Energy Efficiency Strategy for Buildings" (ESG) from 2015 and adapt it to the current state of the political and scientific discussion on technologies, economic issues and political instruments, including funding and new market findings. In addition to the development of a target scenario, the aim is to develop and evaluate a set of instruments that appears suitable for achieving the mitigation targets of the building sector.
